When I first stumbled on the Healthy Living Club, I was in a gym rut. After I moved back to Texas, the local gym was too far away from my house. Consequently, I was not working out consistently. Then, I heard about Jeanette Jenkins.
In the fitness world, Jeanette Jenkins is THE celebrity trainer. She literally calls herself “the Hollywood Trainer” and has worked with artists like Alicia Keys and Kelly Rowland. Lucky for me, Jeanette doesn’t just train celebrities. She also has an online training portal called the Healthy Living Club. It offers virtual workouts users can complete anytime and (nearly) anywhere.
Despite Jeanette’s prominence in the fitness world, HLC is relatively inexpensive. It costs $20 per month, which is about the price of an annual gym membership. She also offers sales throughout the year, which can significantly reduce the price. I decided to put the Healthy Living Club to the test. Here is what I thought:
Installation & Orientation:
The easiest way to access the Healthy Living Club is via the app available on the App Store. The first thing users will see on the app home screen is their dashboard. It includes the number of workouts completed in the current week and the total amount completed during the user's time on the app. The dashboard also has daily quotes from Jeanette. Users can navigate away from the home screen to the meals page. On this page, users can find dozens of recipes and daily nutrition advice. In my opinion, the recipes are simple yet delicious. Additionally, the health advice is always very insightful. Most of the time, I have never heard of the advice Jeanette gives.
Exercise:
Workouts are the most crucial part of any fitness app. The HLC recommends users complete 6 workouts per week. The workout library is packed with diverse workouts! Since joining Jeanette, I’ve tried kickboxing, pilates, yoga, cardio, and weight lifting. Each workout can be completely different from the last. The variety makes working out more fun! Additionally, workouts can be as short as 6 minutes or up to 2 hours. I like this convenience. If I’m pressed for time, I can complete a 20-minute workout. If I’m not rushing anywhere, I can choose one of the longer workouts. Each workout is led by Jeanette, who is the best trainer I have ever had. She adds an inimitable warmth, optimism, and professionalism to each workout. She leaves you wanting more! I rate the workouts 10/10.
Conclusion:
The Healthy Living Club App is the best fitness portal I have ever used. It is uber convenient and effective. Since I started using the app, I’ve decreased by approximately 4 dress sizes. The app is a good substitute for a gym membership. I foresee myself getting a few cardio gym machines (I miss the stairmaster). However, the Healthy Living Club has made my home a gym. Frankly, this app is brilliant and everyone should try it!
